“Didn’t see that coming, did you?”

Wonder if Teebo has anything left in his bag of tricks?

In other news, I’ll also have my entry in the Lawrence Public Library‘s Banned Books Week Trading Card project on display during the first week of October. Stop by the library during a special after hours Final Fridays event this Friday, September 28, at 7:30 pm or anytime in the coming week for a peek at it– and all the other entries, as well. Beginning Sunday, September 30, the first of the seven winners will be available as a trading card; look for a new one debuting each day at the library and at the Lawrence Arts Center.  Collect ’em all!

  1. Good stuff all around, Dale! Love how the texture on the bricks in panel #1 makes Teebo stand out! Great close-up of the greasepainted thug in panel #2, and then the cocky swagger of Mystery Mutt and Teebo’s pending eruption in panel #3! Nicely designed and executed!

    1. Thanks! For some reason it feels like I’ve been able to add a lot more to the art without scrimping on the story lately. This strip (and next week’s) seem to manage to pack in a lot more energetic drawings than I’m usually able to do…

  2. Love how Mystery Mutt is flying in to save the day in panel 2. I didn’t even notice him at first. Nice subtle touch! Can’t wait for the big showdown between the Mutt & the Clown! Good luck on the card contest Dale!

  3. Glad you liked the subtlety of panel 2– while “ham-handed” is my default style, I can do other flavors from time to time! Trading card winners are announced tonight; fingers crossed I’ll have more info to share soon…
