Oh, probably a thing or two…
While this is certainly a more topical ending than I’ll use in any eventual “Watusi in Oz” book collection, it’s one that feels kind of right for the world we have as I finish this storyline up at long, long last. A big thank you goes out to those of you who stuck around for this epic comic adventure that lived up to its “epic” description! Feel free to share your thoughts below, or email me if you don’t want it to be for public consumption…
So, you may ask, what’s next for Watusi & company? What’s next for me? Well, as I wrote back in January, I’m stepping off of this weekly deadline merry-go-round to work more deeply on projects other than this online comic. Of course, since I’m likely to go into Watusi withdrawal, rest assured there will be more canine capers coming in the future! You can find out about those– and whatever else is coming next– in my monthly newsletter; if you haven’t already done so, you can subscribe here.
As always, thanks for reading!
I’ll miss the weekly capers, but I understand the need to have time for deep work.

Glad you enjoyed …. and glad I’m not following it up with a topical real world storyline!

Kinda “Twilight Zone” here. Creepy. Like the virus is looming down toward them from another world! Stay Safe!!

Not the hard reset I usually like after the ending of a long story, but it certainly takes the characters and the readers out of an Oz mindset, doesn’t it? If I was continuing weekly following Oz, I would have opted for something softer, as I don’t think I’d want to devote much time to such a topical storyline…

Congrats on completing your story. I know the Watusi tale is still not finished being told, but good job closing out this particular project! Thanks for all the great Watusi comic strips & all the wonderful adventures! Looking forward to seeing where you go from here w/your artistic endeavors!

Thanks, Brien! I’m sure you can appreciate the relief that stepping of the weekly (or in your case, 3x weekly) schedule gives. I don’t think I’ll be returning to it anytime soon, but I know better than to say “never”…
In fact, one of the projects I’m considering to help ease my Watusi withdrawal is a story told in my monthly newsletter…
