That may be the last time anyone throws a party for Watusi! Or at least buys a cake for one…
“The dream of Mitchell”
… although maybe “nightmare” is more appropriate …
A big thank you to everyone who stopped and chatted with me during last weekend’s Memphis Comic Expo (check out these great photos from the con by my table neighbor Brandt Hardin)! If your first taste of Watusi has encouraged you to check out more, welcome! Feel free to browse the archives– a lot has happened since the “Emerald Serpent” storyline!
“Going their separate ways”
Wait, is that who it looks like?!? Really? Well, it’s about time!!!
It’s kinda hard to tell from here, but does Watusi look a little… different? I guess we’ll find out next episode…
In the mean time, I’ve got some other Watusi news that I’m pretty excited to share– get the details here.
“The hard truth”
Well, yeah, Watusi had his bad points, but come on! Let’s hope Emmet has something better to say about Watusi in the next episode!
Another batch of guest stars made the trip to my comic for Watusi’s memorial: special thanks to Matt Levin (best known for his Walking Man rubber stamp comics; Matt was also a Dime Bag Comics contributor), Drew Boynton (creator of fun Doggie & Jilly comics; Drew was also in APA-5 with me), and Matt Feazell (creator of the Amazing Cynicalman, among other stick figure masterpieces) for classing up this episode! If you’re not already familiar with their work, there’s no time like the present…
“One sunny day at the cemetery”
More familiar faces– and moments of levity, believe it or not– to come…
“Getting down to work”
And if you think this week’s center panel feels like a walk down memory lane, just wait a week or two…
“Just a job to do”
“The disposition of…”?!? How have things gotten to this point? Maybe the Professor really did kill Watusi…
“Only one way to find out…”
This story caught my fancy today … maybe Watusi finding an antique pocket watch isn’t so unbelievable after all!
“Table talk”
Hmmm… Emma might be on to more than she realizes!
A little behind the scenes fact about this episode: the first two panels were originally meant to be the last two panels of last week’s strip (I think it made a better ending than beginning, though it works okay here, too), but time ran short on my deadline. The project that was making me run behind on the strip is now finished, and you can read all about it here.
