“Things are getting busy…”

Quick recap: Watusi and his friends return to Wonder Valley to deal with the giant-sized lab monkey Mitchell! In their absence, others have come to help with the situation…

You can read the rest of this episode of my current interactive* Watusi comic, exclusive for my newsletter subscribers, in my April newsletter (and subscribe to it, if so inclined) …

(* it’s not called “Give the people what they want” for nothing– readers get to vote on the direction the story goes next!)

“Soak’d!”

I may have drawn this strip years and years ago, but it’s only now seeing print– so I thought I’d share it with you online, too!

The second issue of Watusi’s Doghouse Funhouse (my giant-sized kid’s comics anthology) had a l-o-o-n-g road to completion; I won’t go into it here (since I’ve already gone into it here), but I’m glad it’s finally done and available to the public. I’m really pleased with everyone’s contributions in the issue, and hope you’ll purchase a copy for yourself– more details about the comic, its contributors, and how to order a copy can be found here. Or…

You can just stop by the Memphis Arts Collective’s Holiday Show and Sale, where that issue will be on sale along with my other comics, prints, drawings, paintings, buttons, and more! I’m excited to be a part of the event again this year– it features over 30 artists and artisans from the Mid South showing and selling unique handcrafted items you won’t find anywhere else! It’s open at 1501 Union Avenue every day through Christmas Eve, so you’ll have lots of opportunity to shop local, support local artists, and have FUN! Watch my Twitter feed for announcements of when I’ll be at the market; it’s your chance to get comics signed or just chat with me about my art. Hope to see you there!

“The Whiz-Banginator! (Daydream believer)”

From 2005-2009 I was a member of the Small Press Syndicate, a collective of cartoonists who got together in print every other month to share our comics and talk shop. From time to time I drew a new Watusi strip for the pages of our bimonthly newsletter Rap Sheet, most of which have already been collected in Watusi print comics … but here’s one that hasn’t! Hope you enjoy…

“Monologue with unseen audience”

strip398

Looks like there is some well-earned closure in store for Sir Watusi, too … even if Watusi can’t tell he’s there to receive it!

I wish you all the best for a happy 2017, readers; thank you for following along on this storyline throughout the year. By the way, if you haven’t done it, there’s still time to take my reader survey and get a FREE downloadable copy of Festive Funnies before 2016 is over and done with. I plan to share the results early next year.

“It’s a Solstice miracle!!”

strip397

…I mean it has to be a miracle if Watusi can be so generous to Mitchell, right? I hope everyone has a happy winter … and my sympathies to those of you who feel like you’ve been knee-deep in it already!

There’s still time to take my reader survey and get a FREE download code for Festive Funnies; it features some rarely seen Watusi comics, and will be timely reading for the week ahead.

“Moment of truth!”

strip396

Huzzah! It looks like it’s an early Xmas present for the Professor! For Mitchell, maybe not so much…

If you haven’t yet, there’s still time to take my reader survey (and get a code to download a free .pdf comic for your troubles). I’m learning some interesting things about my readers as part of this which will definitely affect my plans for 2017 in a good way. Look for a compiled report sometime in January…

“Welding on the fly”

strip395

The moment of truth is nigh! Let’s hope the Professor’s as good at spot welding as he is at beard growing…

As the year winds down, I’m taking a survey of my readers, and I would love it if you’d take a moment to answer some questions about my comic and your reading habits/interests. There’s a free .pdf comic in it for you if you do it before the end of 2016! The survey starts right here.
