“Going their separate ways”

Wait, is that who it looks like?!? Really? Well, it’s about time!!!

It’s kinda hard to tell from here, but does Watusi look a little… different? I guess we’ll find out next episode…

In the mean time, I’ve got some other Watusi news that I’m pretty excited to share– get the details here.

Boy, I sure hope Watusi somehow returns soon … because if not, this would be the perfect way to end this strip, wouldn’t it?

A special thanks to Mike Sullivan for rounding out my batch of guest cameos with his Infinity Five members! They can be hard to catch in action, but the best place might be in Virtual Infinity Comics Presents #1 … or in “There’s Something Happening in Crawford, Kansas”— soon to be remastered for release on Patreon. Thanks, Mike!

Hopefully Emmett can come up with something nicer to say about Watusi than Irene thinks he will! This episode is eerily bringing the strip full circle: not only is Watusi’s first major supporting character from this webcomic making a return, but there’s also a snippet from my very first Watusi comic, from way back in the year 2000!

A special thanks to Brian and Skywalker Payne, who made the trip to Wonder Valley all the way from Alaska! Brian writes and draws Zinc Comics, and Skywalker writes and tells stories at Skywalker Storyteller Works. Also on hand is Kel Crum‘s Cornelia Dodson. Thanks for taking part in this memorial service for Watusi– more guests on tap next time!

Looks like things are looking up for Watusi! Maybe the sour taste in his mouth will soon be a thing of the past …

Hey, don’t forget that Free Comic Book Day is coming up this Saturday! Once again Mike Sullivan (“There’s Something Happening in Crawford, KS”) and I have teamed up with a new issue of Free-for-All! to showcase our respective webcomics. I’ll be distributing copies at Lawrence’s Astrokitty Comics & More (15 E. 7th St., Lawrence, KS 66044), where I’ll be doing sketches from 2-5; Mike will be doing the same at Pop Culture Comix (9337 W. 87Th Street, Overland Park, KS, 66212). If you’re out and about, stop in and say hi, get some free comics, and maybe even a sketch. If you can’t make it, stop by www.smearysoapboxpress.com on May 4-5th for a free downloadable version …
